There is nothing that I would miss in this location in terms of the services provided. The opinion of 96% of tourists from abroad and 92% of domestic travellers, which prevailed in a survey of the behavior of tourists in the Czechia in the first half of this year. The investigation by the Institute of Tourism of the CzechTourism agency showed that travellers from abroad spent 1,811 CZK for one day per person while staying in the Czech Republic, whereas the daily expenditure of domestic visitors was 810 CZK.
Most foreign (67%) and domestic (55%) tourists stayed in mass accommodation facilities, such as hotels, motels or boarding houses. While Czech residents spent most often 2 nights in them when traveling (30%), guests from abroad stayed 1-2 days longer (37%). Both groups traveled to/from Czechia mainly by their own car/motorcycle (70%) and went on holiday with their partners (49%).

"The fact that the majority of interviewed foreigners visit the Czech Republic regularly (64% at least once a year) and are above average satisfied with the level of services provided here is a great commendation and a commitment for the entire tourist industry. However, we must not rest on our laurels, there is always something to improve. CzechTourism also helps with this, for example by organizing educational courses, workshops and other events for tourism professionals, such as the May TTD in Karlovy Vary," says the Director of the Czech Tourism Authority – CzechTourism Jan Herget and adds: "The survey´s results also confirm that Czechia is an attractive tourist destination and has managed to stand the test of the difficult post-covid period. The Czech Republic is looking forward to all visitors and is prepared to welcome them."

While foreign tourists in the Czech Republic were most interested in cultural monuments (49%), people from the Czech Republic who visited and stayed overnight in a region other than they live in, spent their time mainly on hiking tours (54%). The 2nd place among travellers from abroad took a visit of relatives or acquaintances (33%), domestic tourists preferred natural sights (34%). These were the main attraction also for guests from foreign countries, 28% went to caves, lookouts, etc. The imaginary bronze medal (33%) from Czech tourists would go to cultural monuments, such as castles, chateaux, etc.

"The data also show that both, foreign and domestic tourists most often organize their vacation or trip around Czechia individually (92% and 79%). They go to the Czech Republic mainly for recreation (57% and 59%) and for visits (both 25%)," says Petr Janeček, head of the Tourism Institute of the CzechTourism Authority, and adds: "They tend to choose the place of interest based on their own experiences from the past (44% and 64%). Here, too, the Pareto rule is being confirmed in practice, saying that 80% of income is made up of 20% of satisfied customers."

The survey by CzechTourism also deals with the behavior of day-trippers. That concerns people who came to see something interesting but did not stay overnight in the visited place. Complete survey results are available at https://tourdata.cz/data/tracking-domaciho-a-prijezdoveho-cestovniho-ruchu/.
