Mucha Trail, Mucha's exhibitions, Mucha's favourite dishes, Mucha as a joint with the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union. All of this is currently related to the painter, graphic artist and designer of the Art Nouveau period Alfons Mucha. A person who first became famous in France. Which means in the country from which Czechia took over the imaginary baton to be in the lead of Europe this year. The cosmopolitan, who came from Ivančice in Moravia, will now help with the visibility of the Czech Republic even more thanks to a special memorandum.
The cooperation document was signed by Director of the Czech Tourism Authority - CzechTourism Jan Herget and Director of the Mucha Foundation Marcus James Mucha. It concerns mutual presentation and promotion of Alfons Mucha's artwork as part of the cultural heritage of the Czech Republic at home and abroad.

"Our common interest is to spread the good name of the Czech Republic and Alfons Mucha. With help of the memorandum, we are planning to cooperate with the Mucha Foundation on upcoming projects in our country and elsewhere in the world," says Director of the Czech Tourism Authority – CzechTourism Jan Herget and adds: "The memorandum regulates our cooperation until the end of the year 2025. It will happen, among other things, through websites, printed materials, educational events, workshops, seminars and other forms of communication and marketing."

Currently, it is possible to see Alfons Mucha's family collection in Valdštejnská jízdárna in Prague. And for next year, besides other things, the international expansion of Mucha Trail is being prepared.

"From May to October 2023, we are planning to hold next cycle of the exhibition of Mucha Trail in Slovakian Piešťany. It will be symbolic, because my aunt Jaroslava was cured in its spa, and my grandfather thus dedicated an original painting to the city," says the painter's grandson and Chairman of the Board of the Mucha Foundation John Mucha and adds: "My aunt also painted, she helped my grandpa, for example, with the creation of the Slavic Epic. How she looked was possible to see at the first issue of Czechoslovak ten-crown banknote, later on the fifty-crown banknote. On both of them, it was my grandfather Alfons who depicted her there.''

Even the painting that Alfons Mucha dedicated to Piešťany became famous. Slovakia featured him on a stamp that won 5th place in the WIPA Grand Prix exhibition.

And what about the Mucha Trail, which has opened this year? It invites visitors to wander through important places of the author's early life in Moravia. It starts in the artist's hometown of Ivančice, continues through Mikulov, where Mucha created his first paintings, and carries on to Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou, where can be found the original frescoes from the painter's youth, decorating the town hall. It currently ends in Moravský Krumlov with the world-famous Slavic Epic. To look, not only at it, is possbile in the report of CzechTourism directly from the place.
