Brno is the first Central European city to host TRAVERSE 2022. Almost 300 influencers, bloggers and digital content creators arrived to the 9th year of this prestigious conference. In addition to a two-day educational program focused on online marketing and content creation, a taste of the best that Brno and South Moravia have to offer in the field of tourism is expecting them.
The TRAVERSE conference is an educational platform for digital content creators that takes place every year in different travel destination. The winning candidacy of the Czech Republic and Brno as this year's host city was announced at the World Travel Market in London last November. Among the participants, the British journalist and presenter who cooperates with the BBC – Gavin Ramjuan, the well-known YouTuber Jan Klaeui or the writer focusing on Muslim culture Tharik Hussain are going to be a part of this year’s event.

"We are very happy that this year's conference is taking place in Brno. We really wanted to organize Traverse in the Czech Republic from the moment we first met the team that introduced us the destination closely. That was in 2017, five years ago. From the first moment we visited Brno and South Moravia for the first time last summer, we knew it would be the perfect place for our biggest event. People are friendly here, there is an amazing architecture, culture and history, and of course, amazing food and drinks. We know that we haven‘t been to South Moravia for the last time," said Michael Ball, Executive Director of Traverse.

Before the conference itself, a number of experiences and activities are prepared for its participants, such as visits to Brno's famous villas, the underground, guided tours of Brno, night photoshoots on Kraví hora, cooking with the winner of the European Class Chef competition or a trip to Veveří castle. The official opening with a special program will take place on Friday evening at Špilberk castle.

"Current trends in travelling are moving away from overcrowded big cities. Travellers are looking for an authentic atmosphere, unique architecture, a varied cultural offer and great local gastronomy. Brno brings all of this together, and it's great that their followers and readers from all over the world will get to know about it thanks to this event and our guests. The Traverse conference is another important tourism event that has been organized in our city. The goal is to bring one such significant event here each year, in which we are succeeding now: last year the meeting of the Association of French Tourism Journalists took place here, this year the largest conference of world bloggers and influencers Traverse, and the next one the CzechTourism agency organizes Travel Trade Day in Brno, on which we are once again working together with the Tourist Authority - South Moravia. These prestigious events help raise awareness of Brno in the world and spread its good name among foreign visitors, whom we would like to attract to our city again after the pandemic time," stated Mayor of Brno, Markéta Vaňková.

Other activities within the whole region will be organized under direction of the Tourist Authority - South Moravia. Trips to historical city of Znojmo, the Moravian Karst, a wine tour to Valtice or UNESCO monuments to Lednice are prepared. "I would like to thank all businesses, hotels, wineries and other tourist partakers in Brno and South Moravia who helped us create a very attractive accompanying program for conference participants. The organization of this important event is a valuable experience for us. We will use it for good next year in May during the mentioned Travel Trade Day, a workshop of global buyers, tour operators and travel agencies, which we will organize together," said Director of the Tourist Authority - South Moravia, Martina Grůzová.

"I am very happy that we managed to get Traverse to the Czech Republic, it is one of the successes of CzechTourism, which we have been working on since 2018. The conference for global bloggers and influencers is a fantastic opportunity to show our beautiful country and, thanks to digital content, attract more people to Czechia foreign tourists. Based on previous editions of the conference, 53 million users on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and up to 150 million impressions can be expected. If it succeeds, we will be known much more in the world," says Jan Herget, Director of the Czech Tourism Authority – CzechTourism and adds: "Of course, we are thinking about domestic tourists too. They now have the opportunity to go on trips in the so-called footsteps of Traverse participants. Starting today, we have prepared an overview of the places they are going to visit on probably the largest tourist portal in Europe, our Kudy z nudy.“
