The oldest glassmaking school in the world, which was founded in 1856, is in the Czech Republic. In the Liberec region. Currently, French television TF1 is interested in the school and other places connected with Czech glass. In Kamenický Šenov and other places of Crystal Valley, is shooting the TV reports for the weekend's main news. The film crew from France will also go to Krkonoše, where they will focus on domestic mountains. All this thanks to cooperation of foreign representation of the Czech Tourism Authority - CzechTourism for France, Crystal Valley, KRNAP and the Liberec Region.
In the reports for the audience from France Besides the High School of Glass Arts Kamenický Šenov, should not be missing the Pačinek Glassworks in Cvikov near Kunratice, the AJETO glassworks in Lindav or the headquarters of LASVIT in Nový Bor. The French crew is also planning to film in the Museum of Glass and Bijoux in Jablonec nad Nisou, or with Ladislav Ševčík from Bohemia Krystal and in the Lhotský skláři studio, which is also based in Železný Brod. The end of the current French journey for Czech glass will belong to Rautis, a factory of Christmas ornaments from glass pearls, registered on the UNESCO list.
"The locations we helped select for the filming of French TF1 have an international and very up-to-date context. For instance, Pačinek Glassworks with its crystal temple, garden and smelter plays a significant role in the film Glass Onion with Daniel Craig, which is leading today’s charts on Netflix," says Director of the Czech Tourism Authority - CzechTourism Jan Herget and adds: "The Lasvit company, whose name originated from combining the words Láska (love) + Svit (light), a proud holder of the Dezeen Award, is located in a unique glass house connected to a traditional stand structure. And in the AJETO smelters in Lindau are produced trophies for Tour de France."
TF1 is the most watched private television in France. Weekend Main News Week-end JT regularly watch 4 to 6 million viewers.
"The reports in Czechia for TF1 are filmed by French journalist Matthieu Dupont. The longer one will cover Crystal Valley, the shorter Krkonoše. They should look like ZOOM videos the same editor previously shot in the French Jura mountains," says PR Manager Jana Trojanová, who is in charge of managing CzechTourism's foreign representation for France and adds: "Czech traditions are key this year to CzechTourism's marketing as well. Active tourism and Czech nature are among the main communication lines of French foreign representation. That’s why we were glad that Mr. Dupont was open to new ideas. The Liberec region belongs to less visited Czech regions among French travellers. The reports will help raise awareness of the local natural beauty and the tradition of glass art, including modern forms."
TF1 Editor Matthieu Dupont, who has filmed in Tuscany or Scotland in the past, summarizes his impressions from the first day of filming in Czechia: "Incredible Mr. Pačinek, who combines passion and devotion to the art of his ancestors and love for a precisely done job!" It was a pleasure to get to know his glass garden and the small church opposite his glass factory where he exhibits his works. And I'm not talking about the treasure hidden inside the church, which should every visitor to the Crystal Valley see and soon will see TF1 viewers too." Dupont's enthusiasm also extends to the unique crystal altar of the Holy Sepulcher. This ancient glass-inlaid altar was discovered in the church in Kunratice near Cvikov two years ago.
Reports about Czechia should – in addition to the previously mentioned – capture the largest collection of jewellery or the new "Museum Crystal" pavilion of the Glass and Jewellery Museum in Jablonec or engraved and cut glass or fused sculptures from Železný Brod. They are from domestic manufacturers who supply unique Czech products to Chinese and Japanese markets, including the imperial court or the Danish Kingdom. According to current information, Czech glass and mountains should appear in the main TF1 news in February this year.
