Czechia presents itself in France as a country where cycling has deep roots and where active movement is naturally connected with nature, culture and everyday life. CzechTourism's foreign representation in Paris, together with the Embassy of Czechia in France and partner Škoda France, has prepared the project "Deux roues, une symphonie - La Tchéquie à vélo" (Two wheels, one symphony - Czechia a bike). The aim is to reinforce the perception of Czechia as an attractive cycling destination and to present its potential in the context of the planned hosting of the Grand Départ of the famous Tour de France.
Czech Republic from the saddle of a bicycle
On the fence of the Czech Embassy in Paris, a total of 21 large-format photographs depicting Czech regions from the perspective of cyclists are on display, from wine trails and monuments to natural scenery. The exhibition presents the South Bohemian pond landscape, historic towns and UNESCO monuments or the scenic routes of South Moravia, which can be conveniently explored from the saddle of a bicycle. The project also shows that Czechia offers excellent conditions not only for recreational cycling, but also for sporting challenges and large international undertakings.

„Everyone can find their terrain in Czechia – from those who want to pedal hard and ride up hills, to families with children looking for a relaxing trip with a stop for a swim or a good meal. We have an extremely dense and clearly signposted network of almost 40,000 kilometres of cycle paths and cycle lanes. We have been making it visible and inspiring trips for a long time through the portal Kudy z nudy and the website for foreign tourists VisitCzechia. And events such as the project „Deux roues, une symphonie – La Tchéquie à vélo“ are another great opportunity to show the world that Czechia offers ideal conditions for active holidays and exploring regions from a different angle, and in a sustainable way,“ says Director of the Czech Tourist Authority – CzechTourism František Reismüller and adds: „Thanks to its location, dense network of routes and popularity of cycling, Czechia has very good conditions for the development of active travel and the organisation of major sporting events. The combination of quality facilities, accessibility and attractive landscapes shows why our country is increasingly being talked about in connection with major international cycling events, including the Tour de France.“

„We are proud to present the Czechia in France as a country that is very close to cycling, offers quality infrastructure and a unique combination of active movement, culture and nature. We believe that this presentation will strengthen the perception of Czechia as an attractive destination for fans of active travel and will show that it has excellent conditions for hosting major international cycling races," adds Director of CzechTourism's Foreign Representation in France Markéta Dianová.

Tour de France, Czech trophies and Roman Kreuziger
The opening ceremony of the exhibition took place at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Paris with the participation of 130 guests from the tourism, media, sport and cycling sectors, including important partners connected with the Czech cycling scene and the Tour de France. For example, Cyrille Tricart, representative of the Tour de France organiser Amaury Sport Organisation, Julien Bessière, Director of Škoda France, Přemysl Novák from L'Etape Czech Republic by Tour de France or professional cyclist and ten-time Tour de France participant Roman Kreuziger arrived. Their participation underlined the importance of the whole event and the strong connection of Czech cycling with the most famous stage race in the world. The atmosphere of the evening was complemented by the presentation of iconic trophies for Tour de France winners, produced by the Czech company Lasvit. Musical accompaniment was provided by members of the South Bohemian Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Jan Talich.

Czechia in the spotlight in Paris
The meeting at the Embassy residence offered a space for establishing new contacts and further promotion of Czechia in the prestigious environment of the French capital, just a few steps from the Eiffel Tower. The project will remain on the embassy fence until the end of the Tour de France and will symbolically link Czech cycling, tourism and one of the most watched sporting events in the world.
