It was precisely on these pillars that the Karlovy Vary Region based its presentation in Vienna, where it introduced itself to Austrian journalists, representatives of travel agencies and tour operators, influencers, and travel bloggers. The event, organized by the region in cooperation with the CzechTourism Foreign Representative Office in Austria as part of the PROPED economic diplomacy project, demonstrated why western Bohemia ranks among the most interesting destinations for relaxation, active vacations, and exploring local traditions. Czech gastronomy continues its foreign campaign. After two establishments in Tokyo, the legendary Viennese restaurant Schweizerhaus, where locals, tourists and lovers of honest Central European cuisine have been heading for decades, has also been certified Czech Specials. The iconic establishment in the heart of the Prater has become the first restaurant in Europe to boast this label outside Czechia. It confirms that Czech cuisine, Czech beer and the atmosphere of traditional pubs also appeal to guests outside Czechia. Domestic spa towns come alive again with festivities, opening of springs, concerts and cultural festivals. Interest in the spa industry continues to grow. In 2025 alone, a total of 982,000 guests visited spa accommodation facilities in Czechia. There were 556 thousand domestic visitors, and over 426 thousand foreign visitors. The largest concentration of guests has traditionally been recorded in the Karlovy Vary Region, which remains the flagship of the Czech spa industry. For two days, Prague is transforming into a vibrant hub of global tourism. On 20 and 21 April, it is hosting the largest incoming tourism event in Czechia – Czechia Travel Trade Day 2026, organised annually by the Czech Tourist Authority – CzechTourism, this year in cooperation with Prague City Tourism and regional tourism organisations.
