More than 770 Swedes competed for a trip to Pilsen, while four new Czech breweries presented themselves in Oslo. Autumn in Scandinavia belonged to Czech beer - and the interest was huge. The long-standing tradition of Czech beer and the experiences associated with it as the main theme of the B2B event with "Czech Beer Day" in Oslo. It was organised by the CzechTourism Foreign Representation in Scandinavia in cooperation with the Czech Embassy and the local CzechTrade office.
Norwegian market tastes new breweries
Four new breweries were introduced in Norway - Primátor, Pivovary.cz, Pivovar Záhora and Břevnovský pivovar. In addition to B2B meetings with importers, associations and media, the organizers also prepared a beer tasting, led by popular Norwegian beer influencer Espen Smith.
„We are very pleased that a local expert, who regularly visits Czechia and organises beer tours, was able to present Czech beer. It is the expert tasting that can reveal the strengths of the beer and offer an independent assessment for importers, associations and the media,“ says Lucie Vallin, Director of the CzechTourism Foreign Representation in Scandinavia.
Plzeň tank classic conquers Stockholm
Czech beer was also introduced in Sweden. In Stockholm, the CzechTourism representation took part in the first annual Pilsner Urquell – Schnitzel Week event, which took place in five selected restaurants.
In addition, during the week there was a competition for a stay in Pilsen, donated by the Visit Pilsen organisation. 770 guests took part in the competition and the winner was personally drawn by the Swedish ambassador.
Beer trails and spas attract more and more
Czech beer has long had a strong name in Scandinavia – and its potential doesn't just stop at gastronomy.
„The Czech beer tradition has a name in Scandinavia and is not missing from our activities. Not only are brewery tours and beer spas popular, but the connection of beer with active holidays, such as the Krkonoše Beer Trail, is also gaining interest,“ concludes Lucie Vallin.
