Six days, 40 famous Hollywood composers, Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and BAFTA award winners, over 400 minutes of concerts with soundtracks from famous films and series for the general public, more than 50 panels, masterclasses and workshops dedicated to the creation of film, series and gaming music for professionals and fans, and over 300 participants from all over the world... This is the 5th edition of the prestigious international event Composers Summit Prague, which will take place from 23 to 28 April 2026 in the centre of Prague.
The core of the public programme consists of four main concerts of film music. On April 23, the fifteen composers, often in the role of conductors, will perform a selection of soundtracks from The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Boys, Medal of Honor,KPop Demon Hunters, Daredevil, House of Cards,Pi and His Life, Prince of Persia, The Martian, or Ant-Man at Municipal House. On April 25, the New Spiral will feature a live performance of the Stranger Things soundtrack by composers Michael Stein and Kyle Dixon. On April 27, audiences at Karlín Music Theatre will experience the world premiere of a new soundtrack to the famous black-and-white film Metropolis by Fritz Lang. The new soundtrack was composed by Jeff Beal, for example the author of the music for the series House of Cards, who will personally conduct the evening with a screening of the original film. The Composer Summit Prague will close on April 28 again at Karlín Music Theatre with the famous Argentine composer and musician Gustavo Santaolalla, who will perform music from his most famous films such as The Last of Us, Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries and others. All of these major concerts will be performed live with the composers by orchestras and accompanied by special screenings. The Monastery of Minorities in Prague will become the new festival centre. Advance ticket sales are already underway at event website, where interested parties can find more information.

„Thanks to these names, I believe that the next Composers Summit Prague will live up to our ambition to welcome the most renowned Hollywood composers of film music, TV series and other orchestral works, including music from the games industry, to our capital city,” says event director Alexandr Smutný at the beginning. „The Summit creates a platform for a unique meeting of amateurs and experts who can create new works, get inspired, share their years of work experience or establish valuable collaborations. We strive to promote a healthy competitive environment in the field of audiovisual music, deepen the connection of Czech artists with foreign countries and significantly contribute to the promotion of the Czech Republic as a center of cultural and creative industries with high international prestige,” continues Alexandr Smutný.

The event would not have been possible without the support of various partners. „At the PPF Foundation, we seek out and support projects that open pathways to the world for Czech talent, as well as those that bring foreign inspiration and know-how to the Czech Republic. Composers Summit Prague's concept perfectly meets both of these goals. We are glad that Czech composers get the opportunity to present their art, excellence and creativity to the top of the foreign audiovisual industry and to establish foreign collaborations. Equally valuable is the inspiration that famous Hollywood composers bring to the Czech cultural scene. The organisers of Composers Summit Prague have succeeded in creating a unique platform, which is why, after the initial cooperation last year, we have decided to support it for the next two years to provide stability for its development and growth,“ says Jana Tomas Sedláčková, member of the PPF Foundation's Board of Trustees, on behalf of The PPF Foundation.

Nova Group has also joined the new main media partners this year. „Music in audiovisual projects forms a significant part of the viewer's experience, and the path to a perfect connection between the musical and plot components of a story is not an easy one. We are therefore delighted to be at Composers Summit Prague, which is a great platform for collaboration between producers and composers, says Michal Reitler, Director of Development at Nova Group.

„Composers Summit Prague is a great opportunity to show once again that Czechia is one of the countries with exceptional cultural and creative potential. Film and TV series music, known to people all over the world, will be heard in Prague – in the heart of Europe, where famous film and music projects were created. Such events strengthen the awareness of Czechia as an inspiring destination that combines history, modern art and the contemporary audiovisual industry,“ adds Director of the Czech Tourist Authority – CzechTourism František Reismüller

On April 27 at the Karlín Music Theatre, Prague will experience the world premiere of a new score for Fritz Lang's 1927 silent black-and-white film Metropolis. „This timeless work, which was ahead of its time and still inspires film and music makers around the world, will be performed by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in a unique performance,” describes Smutný. The music for the screening was composed and will be personally conducted by Jeff Beal, winner of five Emmy Awards and author of the award-winning soundtrack for the House of Cards series. „Beal will appear in Prague not only as a conductor, but also as a soloist, giving the premiere an exceptional character. The new symphonic score will give the film a new dimension,” invites Smutný.

Together they will perform live his most famous songs from films and games – The Last of Us, Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries and more. „He will perform his unique musical signature – a blend of passion, depth and South American soul that can melt any heart,” invites Smutný.

In addition to concerts for the public, Composers Summit Prague 2026 will offer an extensive programme for professionals and fans with a deeper interest in film, series and gaming music - masterclasses, public discussions, competitions and lectures. „Participants engage in the creation of new works, inspire each other, share valuable professional insights and establish important collaborations,” describes Smutný. For example, leading music supervisors – longtime MARVEL studio collaborator Dave Jordan or Emmy Award-winning music supervisor Nora Felder will share their experiences next year. Netflix's lead animation music producer, John McGrew, will also be in attendance, as will Evyen Klean, HBO's Court Music Supervisor, and many others. Attendees will be able to take part in a re-creation of the music for Pi and His Life with the soundtrack composer and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. „The programme also includes a special section dedicated to music in gaming and trends in modern recording studio equipment, the International Showcase of talented film and gaming music composers and the International Workshop on Symphonic Orchestral Recording and Post-Production,” concludes Alexandr Smutný.
