The world's film, television and game productions in one place. And the names that are among the most famous. During its 5th edition, Composers Summit Prague once again confirmed that it is one of the most important cultural events of its kind. The Czech Tourist Authority – CzechTourism was one of its partners.
The Show brought artists from 42 countries to Prague and offered not only exceptional concerts but also powerful encounters with personalities who shape the shape of contemporary music. And sometimes it even changes people's lives. This is exactly the case of the American composer Diane Warren, author of dozens of worldwide hits, hundreds of songs, winner of prestigious awards and an honorary Oscar for lifetime achievement. She came to Prague as one of the main stars and was the first in history to receive a special Composers Summit award.
Music that changes lives
Diane Warren is behind huge hits for Cher, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Céline Dion. Faith Hill, Toni Braxton, and Aerosmith. Her work has long proven that music has power and often the ability to heal. And to change lives – both for the artists themselves and the listeners.
One of the Composers Summit Prague 2026 highlights was a surprise performance by Ewa Farná. She sang two challenging songs from Diane Warren's work: the iconic song from the film Pearl Harbor and the personal ballad Dear Me. The latter is one of the most intimate songs Diane Warren has ever written. It was written as a message to a younger version of herself, about overcoming pain, faith and perseverance. It became the theme song of the documentary Diane Warren: Relentless.
A Story of Perseverance
During a songwriting masterclass, Diane Warren offered a very candid look at her own journey. At the Minorite Convent in Old Town, she spoke about the early days when she faced rejection and felt she was up against the world. But it was these moments that became the driving force behind her work.
She never saw music as a job, but as a life mission. Her approach remains the same to this day: to sit down at the piano or the guitar and constantly search for true emotion. The greatness of this seemingly unassuming and modestly spoken artist is evidenced by the long standing ovation from an audience of young and experienced composers from all over the world.
Prague through the eyes of Diane Warren
Diane Warren lives in Los Angeles and admits that she doesn't just travel the world as a tourist. But she is very interested in Prague. „Prague is really great. I love to shop and I enjoy discovering new things. We went to a Czech design shop and they had a lot of interesting pieces, like brooches, says the big animal lover and supporter.
She was also intrigued by the local gastronomy: „I don't drink alcohol, I never liked it much. But I'm vegan and you have some really great places in Prague. Some people told me before I arrived that I might have a problem here, but that wasn't the case at all.“
