HomeThis autumn, bloggers and influencers from all over the world will come to Brno.
The world online community will "take over" Brno in September. The 9th year of Traverse 22 conference will take place in the South Moravian metropolis from September 17 to 18, 2022. It is a respected event that aims to educate the online travel community across continents. 300 people aged 17 to 70, who´s second home is the world of tourist blogs and social networks, will also get to know the city, the region and the entire Czech Republic.
Brno, and thus the Czech Republic, will become the centre of the blogger and influencer world for a few September days. The largest conference for digital content creators in Europe is organized by the Czech Tourism Authority - CzechTourism, the South Moravian Region and the statutory city of Brno. The Traverse 22 conference itself is a two-day event, which also includes sightseeing trips around Czechia that precede or follow the event.

"I see Traverse 22 as a crucial opportunity for boosting the image and publicity of the Czech Republic in the online world. Experts on blogs, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, as well as leading YouTubers and other influencers from different countries around the world will be here. The event fits right in with our strategy and focus on digital marketing. Our goal is to let influencers create authentic content that we can work with later on," says Jan Herget, Director of the Czech Tourism Authority – CzechTourism and adds: "South Moravia is the main destination for domestic tourists, and we would like to get it in a similar position for foreign visitors too. In this way, we want to get on the track like before covid."

"We have been working on bringing Traverse to Czechia since 2018. I am excited that together we succeeded, after all. It is a big challenge, and above all a huge opportunity for Brno, South Moravia and the entire Czech Republic," says the Director of CzechTourism Foreign Office in Great Britain and Ireland Katarína Hobbs and adds: "The previous conference in Trentino in 2019 generated a 53 million users´ reach and up to 150 million impressions on social networks."
"Not only us, the organizers, but especially the whole community, which participates in our flagship, are happy to host Traverse 22 in Brno. We've heard a lot about Brno, South Moravia and the Czech Republic as such, so it will definitely be great to experience them firsthand," says CEO of Traverse events Michael Ball and adds: "Personally, I'm very curious if your country will really offer what it appeals to in this year's foreign campaign "Come experience the traditional and the new." I am interested in both, and am sure that influencers from different parts of the worls as well. If everything turns out as it has been with the cooperation with CzechTourism so far, i.e. fantastic, everyone will definitely be excited."

The Traverse conference will take place in Central Europe for the first time ever.
"Brno has a lot to offer to bloggers and influencers. For Traverse 22 participants, we are preparing, for example, tours of Villa Tugendhat, the Labyrinth, Zelný market, Jurkovič villa, a guided city tour of Brno, a night photoshoot from Kraví hora, a cooking class with the winner of Europe Class Chef competition, a wine tasting, a visit to brewery, a trip to the wine town Valtice, a trip to Veveří castle and a number of other attractions," says the mayor of the statutory city of Brno Markéta Vaňková and adds: "We will hold a ceremonial opening reception on Friday, September 16 at Špilberk Castle. We will also organize an informal event in cooperation with local businesses in the style of a so-called pub crawl, which will include a varied accompanying program."

"From September 12, we are already planning tours, tastings, workshops, sports and other activities for the participants. The South Moravian Tourism Authority is preparing all of that," says Jan Grolich, Governor of the South Moravian Region. "And what will it be? The historic centre of Znojmo and its vineyards, the brand new Mucha trail, city of Slavkov or photogenic Moravian Tuscany. And if they will already be in Moravian Slovakia, South Moravian wine cannot be missing," he adds.

During Traverse 22, sightseeing trips to other regions of Czechia will also take place. For instance, in the Pardubice region in Dolní Morava mountain resort will be possible to walk through the world's unique Sky Bridge 721 – the longest suspension bridge for pedestrians in the world, in the Olomouc region to taste local cheeses, and in Pilsen the world-famous beer.

The fact that Traverse 22 will be in Brno was first announced on November 1, 2021 at the World Travel Market in London. Since then, the event has been continuously under preparation. In Brno, as the locals say, they are creating a home for the event in all imaginable forms. It is, not only according to the local residents, a modern Mecca of interesting architecture, history, diverse culture and gastronomy. The city is home to bustling bars, restaurants and cafés discreetly located in spaces that combine the modernist and Gothic parts of Brno, picturesquely surrounded by the rolling countryside and vineyards of South Moravia.
