Traveler Alert: Extreme precipitation will hit Czechia!
Meteorologists are warning of extremely heavy rainfall coming to most of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. The warning is valid from 12 to 15 September. The models predict the most intense precipitation until Sunday evening in the belt from the Novohradské hory mountains through Vysočina to Jeseníky. Czechia Travel Trade Day 2024 in Hradec Kralove has just started
Last year, the most tourists in the last 11 years came to the Hradec Králové Region. In total, more than 1.5 million people visited the region, 80% of them were residents and one fifth were foreign travellers. In a national comparison, the region is the fourth most visited after Prague, South Moravia and South Bohemia. The latest data shows that tourism is gaining momentum and is reaching pre-covid numbers. The biggest inbound event in Czechia - Czechia Travel Trade Day 2024, which has just kicked off in Hradec Králové - is helping to boost, especially foreign visitors. Austrians prefer sustainable travel and individual experiences, as this year's Ferien Messe Wien, whose partner country was the Czech Republic, showed
Significant interest in travel not only within Europe but also to destinations further afield, with an emphasis on sustainability and individual travel experiences. These are the current preferences of Austrians when it comes to summer holidays. Nearly 320,000 of them came to the Czech Republic last year, the highest number in 12 years. On average, they spent almost three days here. The most frequent destinations are Prague, South Bohemia and South Moravia. They go for sightseeing, good food, but also hiking. This was not the only thing that was heard during the last weekend at the biggest tourism fair Ferien Messe in Vienna, whose partner country this year was the Czech Republic. Austrians want to travel more than before, among other things because of exploring new cities
The inhabitants of Austria plan to travel abroad this year much more (66%) than last year (34%) and the one before (27%). They are attracted to holidays by the sea, city tourism or wellness stays. Not only this was said at the online export workshop of the Czech Tourism Authority - CzechTourism. It focused on the Austrian and Swiss markets.
