Kuwait, the highest oil-producing country in the Arabian Gulf, will soon be available by direct flights from Prague Airport. Jazeera Airways, the region's fast-growing low-cost airline, will launch flights between Prague and Kuwait in June 2022.

The line will fly twice a week, every Tuesday and Sunday. The carrier will deploy Airbus A320Neo aircraft on the route for 174 passengers. The very first direct air connection between the two countries will thus open Prague to a part of the Persian Gulf with considerable potential for inbound tourism.

In the period before the pandemic, 12,000 people traveled between Prague and Kuwait even without a direct flight, and with a direct flight this number could increase significantly.

"The direct line to Kuwait is a significant contribution to the renewal of inbound tourism to the Czech Republic after the Covid-19 pandemic. The new destination is another signal to us that the situation in aviation is improving. For passengers from Prague, we continue to increase connectivity and expand the possibilities of where to go by air, ” says Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport.

Thanks to Jazeera Airways, passengers can enjoy not only direct flights to Kuwait, but also connections with more distant destinations, especially in India, which is one of the strongest markets without direct flights from Prague.

"We are very pleased to be launching this new service in Prague and the Czech Republic for the summer season and giving our customers a greater opportunity to enjoy a holiday full of activities and cultural experiences with family or friends. Demand for unique tourist destinations is very high after two years of travel restrictions, ” says Jazeera Airways CEO Rohit Ramachandran.

"The air connection to Kuwait is very good news for inbound tourism, which we are working hard to restore. The Middle East region has strong potential and generates an interesting tourism segment. For this reason, we have decided to actively support the new lines from the Middle East with a marketing campaign. Its goal is to strengthen interest in the Czech Republic and thus also strengthen new flights, " says Jan Herget, director of the Czech Tourism Agency.

The CzechTourism agency in the Middle East has long promoted the Czech Republic as an ideal destination for holidays in nature and spas, as well as a destination suitable for the MICE segment. In the past, our foreign representation in Dubai organized two very successful B2B workshops in Kuwait, and this year one more cooperation is planned: https://www.czechtourism.cz/cs-CZ/Vyzvy-a-akce/Archiv/2022/ Pozvanka-na-B2B_workshop_Kuvajt on May 18.

"At the same time, we would like to launch an online campaign within the Touchpoint cooperation this year to support this line. We believe that all these activities will ensure the uninterrupted connection of our countries as much as possible," comments Marek Kroutil, International Marketing Manager.
