Current trends in congress and incentive tourism, representatives of national convention bureaus and international associations and other foreign experts in the MICE field. This and much more will offer the Czech Convention Bureau Inspirational Afternoon conference on January 25 from 1 to 5 p.m. It is organized by the Czech Tourism Authority - CzechTourism at the Vienna House by Wyndham Diplomat Hotel in Prague and the agency cordially invites all B2B partners and professionals in tourism to the event which will be in English. Admission is free.
"We managed to secure great internationally recognized speakers for the event on topics that are absolutely essential for the MICE world. Whether those are about the future development of congresses, exhibitions, conferences and events, instructions on how to proceed when changing the brand of a destination or a change in thinking and political management, when events act as a driving force for social and economic development of the country," says Director of the Czech Tourism Authority - CzechTourism Jan Herget and adds: "There seems to be a huge interest, don't hesitate to register while there are still places available!"
 
Tamara Bernstein, Regional Director of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), will present the association's long-term goals, including three pillars of activities in 2023, at the Czech Convention Bureau Inspirational Afternoon.
 
Matthias Schultze, Director of the German Convention Bureau and representative of the innovation platform Future Meeting Space, will introduce the visitors to the results of a study focused on possible future development scenarios in the MICE field and present the so-called new ecosystem of events, which is being created under the influence of a number of factors and current trends such as new technologies, mobility, sustainability, etc.
 
Eric Bakermans, Director of Marketing and Conventions at the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions will explain rebranding of destination on a case study documenting the transition from a long term used name "Holland" to "The Netherlands". Destination rebranding is also a domestic topic, abroad the shorter name Česko/Czechia is being used more and more often.
 
New policy model, in which events are an important catalyst for social and economic change and a driving force for the country's future development, will present Neil Brownlee, Director of Business Events Visit Scotland department and a member of the PCMA advisory committee (Professional Convention Management Association).
 
The afternoon will close a representative of the international IMEX Group company, who will focus on new initiatives in the area of sustainability and accessibility.
 
"International cooperation in the field of congress tourism is one of the three main areas of our activity. Because of the TOP speakers as well, regional convention bureaus, hotels, DMCs, PCOs and venues showed interest in participating in our Czech Convention Bureau Inspirational Afternoon," says Czech Convention Bureau Head Manager Tereza Hofmanová and adds: "This unique event will be followed by a meeting of the Strategic Alliance of European National Convention Bureaus, which will take place in the Czech Republic for the first time ever."
