30 years since the establishment of the independent Czech Republic, 30 years since the establishment of the Czech Tourism Centre - CzechTourism. Tourism has been an integral part of the domestic economy since 1993 and many people have contributed to its development. Many projects have also been created that have significantly advanced the area. That is why this year's Heroes of Tourism award will cover the entire thirty years. You can also decide who wins.
Heroes of Tourism is an award announced by CzechTourism on the basis of nominations from professional organisations in the field of tourism. The agency wants to draw attention to exceptional personalities, projects and products that, according to the professional and lay public, have helped tourism the most. The winners are decided by online voting on the website of the Czech Tourism Centre, which is open to anyone here.

„Professional organizations working in the tourism industry have nominated a total of 29 individuals, projects and achievements for the Heroes of Tourism for 30 years award. These were in three categories: tourism personality, digitisation in tourism and significant achievement in tourism. The general public will decide who wins. The public can vote on our communication channels until 23 August 2023,"says CEO of the Czech Tourism Centre - CzechTourism Jan Herget and adds:" In addition, we plan to announce the award of Minister for Regional Development and the award of CEO of CzechTourism. This year, we have named „my“ like „Woman of Tourism for 30 years“. Because it is women who work most often in tourism and have done a lot of good in it.“

The winners of the Heroes of Tourism Awards for the period 1993–2023 will be announced at a gala evening to be held on Monday 18 September 2023 at Spojka Karlín in Prague. The event, which will be a part of the annual meeting of the CzechTourism agency, will be attended by representatives of the tourism industry from the state, private and academic sectors, from ministries, regions, cities and municipalities, destination agencies, universities to travel agencies, hoteliers, restaurant operators and other entrepreneurs in the tourism sector.

„In the context of the Heroes of Tourism Awards for 30 years nominations, we have reached out, including repeatedly, to key professional organizations in the tourism industry. So that we could get suggestions based on the real experience of real experts. And because tourism concerns each of us, the general public has the final word,“ says Director of Product Management, Research and B2B Cooperation of the Czech Tourism Centre – CzechTourism Veronika Janečková and adds: "After the debate, we left the categories wider so that the award could continue continuously in the future. Therefore, we will announce the personality who has fundamentally influenced tourism over the last 30 years, the digitalization project over the last 30 years that has most influenced the tourism industry in Czechia. And also a one-off exceptional achievement in the tourism sector, i.e. an innovative tourism project or product that has helped the development of the sector over the last 30 years. How everything will turn out will be heard in September in Prague. So feel free to vote on which of the nominated finalists will become your/our Hero of Tourism!“
