Czechia holds its place among the world's congress elite. Prague shines, regions are scoring more and more
Czechia has once again confirmed that it is one of the most important congress destinations in the world. This is according to the latest statistics of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), according to which Czechia with a total of 172 international association congresses and conferences was ranked 23rd in the global ranking of countries. Prague also recorded a significant success. In the global ranking of cities, it came in at an excellent 6th place and ranked among the top destinations such as Lisbon, Paris, Barcelona or Vienna. Czechia conquers Paris by bike. At the Eiffel Tower attracts cycling, nature and Tour de France
Czechia presents itself in France as a country where cycling has deep roots and where active movement is naturally connected with nature, culture and everyday life. CzechTourism's foreign representation in Paris, together with the Embassy of Czechia in France and partner Škoda France, has prepared the project "Deux roues, une symphonie - La Tchéquie à vélo" (Two wheels, one symphony - Czechia a bike). The aim is to reinforce the perception of Czechia as an attractive cycling destination and to present its potential in the context of the planned hosting of the Grand Départ of the famous Tour de France. Interest in Czechia continues, year-on-year increase in visitor numbers and overnight stays
During the first quarter of this year, a total of 4.4 million guests arrived in domestic hotels, guesthouses and other mass accommodation establishments, up 5.2% year-on-year. Almost 52% (2.3 million) were domestic tourists, while 48% (2.1 million) were visitors from abroad. Domestic visitors from neighbouring countries - Germany (474,000), Poland (188,000) and Slovakia (172,000) - most often chose Czechia as their holiday destination during January-March 2026. Tourists from Great Britain (129 thousand) and Italy (114 thousand) also arrived in larger numbers. The number of overnight stays also increased year-on-year by 5.7% to a total of 11.1 million nights. The average length of stay was 3.55 days. Read more…

Czechia is celebrating significant success on the Spanish travel scene. At the Viajes National Geographic Awards 2026 ceremony in Barcelona, Markéta Lehečková, Director of the CzechTourism Foreign Representation for Spain, received the Mención especial award in the International Destinations category. According to the readers of the prestigious Viajes National Geographic magazine, Czechia is one of the most attractive places in the world.
