The world's leading wine experts are heading to Moravia and Bohemia. They will assess the potential of our wines.
At the end of August and beginning of September, the Czech wine industry will experience a landmark moment. For the first time ever, the country will welcome an organized delegation of twenty holders of the prestigious Master of Wine (MW) title—the highest and most respected professional distinction in the global wine industry. Accompanied by prominent British journalists and media representatives, they will participate in a five-day professional program from August 31 to September 4, 2026. During this time, they will explore the wine regions of Bohemia and Moravia, visit UNESCO World Heritage sites, meet with local winemakers, and participate in a series of specialized masterclasses. Tourism in Czechia Remains Stable; Tourists Continue to Head to the Regions
In the second quarter of this year, domestic hotels, guesthouses, and other collective accommodation facilities welcomed a total of 6.4 million guests, who spent more than 15.1 million nights there. The average length of stay was 3.38 days. Residents accounted for 54% of all arrivals, while foreign visitors accounted for 46%. As is traditional, Prague recorded the highest number of guests and overnight stays, followed by the South Moravian and South Bohemian regions. In terms of the number of overnight stays, the Karlovy Vary and South Moravian regions ranked behind the capital. The largest numbers of foreign tourists came from Germany (649,000), Slovakia (262,000), and Poland (255,000). Visitors from the U.S., the United Kingdom, and Austria also traveled to Czechia in significant numbers. Read more…

Are hot days no fun for day trips? Czechia offers plenty of places where you can cool off
Another heat wave has hit Czechia, with temperatures in many places soaring well above 30 degrees. But even tropical days don’t have to mean the end of trips and sightseeing. You just need to adapt your plans to the weather. Caves and historic underground sites, museums, galleries, wine cellars, and mountainous areas offer refuge from the heat even on the hottest days. Movies and TV series will help attract tourists to Czechia. CzechTourism has joined forces with the Czech Film Commission
Stronger promotion of Czechia both at home and abroad, and better use of successful films and TV series to develop domestic and international tourism. These are the main objectives of the memorandum of cooperation signed by the Czech Tourism Authority—CzechTourism—and the State Audiovisual Fund, Czech Film Commission division. Both institutions aim to link the audiovisual industry with tourism even more systematically, present the Czech Republic as an attractive destination for both filming and travel through selected joint activities, and use movie screens and television to attract visitors not only to well-known tourist sites but also to as-yet-undiscovered locations. The CzechTourism agency is introducing Czechia to Italian travelers in an unconventional way—through a podcast series inspired by a historical novel.
